Paws and Pose: Enter Our Fur-tography Contest for a Chance to Win Big!
Get ready to capture those precious moments with your furry friends! Introducing Fur-tography, our community’s most adorable pet photo contest. Whether your pet is a purring kitty, a playful pup, or something more exotic, we want to see their charm through your lens.
Submit your most heartwarming, hilarious, or downright adorable photos of your beloved pets for a chance to win big. Each entry puts you in the running for one of four $100 gift certificate to Finer Frames, where you can showcase your winning shot in style.

Here’s the nitty gritty…
FUR-Tography is a community pet photo exhibit that will be displayed at Finer Frames August 1 through September 28, 2024.
HOW TO APPLY
Humans living in Idaho that are 13 years and older may submit digital photos of their pets by email to gallery@finerframes.com
Deadline for submissions is midnight Friday, July 12, 2024
Humans may submit up to 5 photos of their pets for consideration for the jurying process. Label each entry with your last name with number of entry, for example (Smith1.jpg). Entrant must have the legal right and ability to give permission for Finer Frames to use the photo.
SELECTIONS
If selected for the exhibit, you’ll be notified by email on Monday, July 15
Finalists must provide framed photographs to Finer Frames by Monday July 29.
Photos printed on paper must be framed with white mats and black frames. Recommended photo size 11×14. Outside frame size must be under 20×24.
Discounted framing is available for $80 by Finer Frames. Black wood frame, 3” wide archival mat, museum mount and UV filtering glass. Finished size would be 17″ x 20”
Photos on wrapped canvas that are wired for hanging will also be accepted.
Pictures may be offered for sale, if the entrant wishes, but it’s not required.
RECEPTION
The public is welcome to the Opening Reception on Wednesday July 31 at Finer Frames. Refreshments and fun from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Awards will be presented at 6:30pm.
AWARDS
Each winner will be awarded a $100 gift certificate for Finer Frames. 3 top winners and a people’s choice will be awarded. The chances of winning depend on the number of entries received and on the opinions of the judges panel.
Community members are encouraged to visit the exhibit and vote for their favorite photo. People’s Choice will be awarded on September 28.
At the conclusion of the show on September 28, artwork must be picked up no later than Wednesday October 2, 2024 unless otherwise arranged. Any artwork left after 10/4/24 will be considered abandoned and will be considered property of Finer Frames.
Pastel Society of the West Coast Showcase
The Pastel Society of the West Coast Showcase is set to delight art enthusiasts with a celebration of the art of soft pastel. Revered as the “father of soft pastel,” Edgar Degas illuminated the medium’s boundless potential and charm through his remarkable works. From April 27th to May 29th, the Gallery at Finer Frames in Eagle, Idaho, will be the exclusive host of a collection featuring the works of nineteen talented artists from the Idaho, Montana and Wyoming regions.
This exhibition promises to delight with a variety of styles and genres, encompassing everything from vibrant cityscapes to serene landscapes, evocative figurative pieces, delicate florals, and captivating still lifes. Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the meticulous process behind the creation of a pastel masterpiece, from inception to completion. Additionally, the showcase will feature several demonstrations showcasing the myriad forms of soft pastels utilized today, including pencils, hard and soft sticks, and pan pastels.
Highlighting the event will be a special demonstration by acclaimed artist Bonnie Zahn Griffith on Saturday, May 11th, from noon to 2 pm. Griffith’s expertise and insights promise to enrich visitors’ understanding and appreciation of the intricate artistry involved in working with soft pastels.

Extreme Plein Air Starts January 1st
Here’s what artists need to know about Extreme Plein Air:
WHEN: January 1 – 25th, 2024
WHY: Let’s have some January fun!
WHAT: Kick off the new year by joining other artists painting “en plein air” during January. Submit photos from the field for a chance to win prizes. Then we celebrate with a plein air party @ Finer Frames on Thurs January 25th.
Choose your best outdoor painting created that week, and if you developed a studio piece from the plein air study, grab that too. Bring them to Finer Frames for a special art party on 1/25/24 from 5-8pm. The paintings will be displayed on easels for all to enjoy. Network with other artists. Enjoy warm refreshments, see all of the paintings & vote for your favorite. Prizes awarded @ 6:30pm
HOW: Get outside and paint! Take pictures of yourself, on location, with your painting. Email the pic to gallery@finerframes.com OR Post on FB or IG with #extremepleinair & #finerframes to enter to win raffle prizes:
