About Joyce

“I chose the medium of watercolor because the medium emphasizes luminosity, and fluidity. It is possible to develop great depth of color and strong design with appropriate techniques, yet maintain control of this difficult medium.”

“I paint the things I love, like light and movement found in human activities and interactions with nature in Idaho, but also by travels over 6 continents and 50 years.” -Joyce Green

Joyce Green’s bold and luminous, light filled watercolor paintings appeal to a wide audience. Her background includes both formal degrees in art and years of experience as both a teacher and artist, which augment her extensive travel. She has earned recognition for her work in various national and regional venues such as the National Watercolor Society. She has received numerous awards for her vibrant and motion filled work, including four “Best of Show” awards.

Joyce is always pleased to create custom art works geared to your particular needs or wishes. She has received commissions to paint individual portraits as well as “heritage” portraits (showing grandparents with vignettes of their lives) in watercolor, as well as dance and animal related themes. Her “Water Music” series has especially attracted national attention. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or comments. Her goal is to create work that will continually intrigue your imagination and enrich your walls.
